Caving in to a bike race, but winning anyway

It was already 7 p.m. Mr Khamkeun thought of giving up. His legs were complaining. “Let’s ride a car and I’ll pay,” he tried to convince me. But, my mind was already set to arrive there by my bike so I said it’s alright if he goes ahead.

One year after the government closed the bars and put an end to drug outlets in Vangvieng, the village is struggling to get back to business. We spent a weekend.
